Tyrone C. Hamler, PhD, MSW is social work researcher and practitioner who is an Assistant Professor at the University of Denver in the Graduate School of Social Work.

Dr. Hamler’s engages in practice-informed research with a focus on physical and mental health disparities among older adults who are also members of historically marginalized groups. Specifically, he investigates health disparities in dialysis, transplantation, and quality of life among older adults living with kidney disease. He is an advocate for individuals and families living with kidney disease and committed to reducing the gap in health disparities.

He is adept at both quantitative and qualitative methods and works actively to center the voices of those with lived experiences.
